Join The Ruh Collective and Canal & River Trust for a fun and unique opportunity to get out on the water and try your hand at paddlesports in the beautiful surroundings of Frampton.

Whether you’re completely new to paddlesports or simply looking to try something different, this session is a chance to connect with nature, build confidence and enjoy the outdoors in a welcoming and supportive environment.

No previous experience is required, and you do not need to be able to swim. Our friendly, qualified instructors will guide you throughout the session and help you feel comfortable on the water.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your session starts to allow time for registration and preparation.

All paddlesports equipment will be provided.

What to Bring

We recommend bringing:

  • Comfortable clothing that you can move around easily in
  • Suitable outdoor footwear
  • A bottle of water
  • A change of clothes, just in case

We do not intend for participants to enter the water, but as paddlesports take place on the water, bringing a change of clothes is recommended as a precaution.

Please dress appropriately for the weather.

FAQs

Do I need previous paddlesports experience?

No! The session is suitable for complete beginners. Our qualified instructors will guide you through the activities and help you build your confidence.

Do I need to be able to swim?

No. You do not need to be able to swim to take part. Buoyancy aids will be provided and you will receive guidance from qualified instructors throughout the session.

Are there female instructors?

Yes. There will be female instructors for the female session and male instructors for the male session.

Is the session mixed?

No. We are running separate male and female sessions.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. This event is open to participants aged 16 years and over.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

No. All paddlesports equipment, including canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and buoyancy aids, will be provided.

Do I need to arrange my own travel?

Yes. Travel to and from the event is not provided, so participants will need to make their own way to the location in Frampton.

If you need support with arranging travel, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

Where exactly is the event?

The session will take place in Frampton.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move around easily in, along with suitable outdoor footwear.

We recommend bringing a change of clothes and dressing appropriately for the weather.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Paddlesports are dependent on suitable weather and water conditions. If conditions are considered unsafe, the session may need to be amended, postponed or cancelled.

We will communicate any changes to participants as soon as possible.

Terms & Conditions

Booking

Tickets must be booked in advance through The Ruh Collective website.

Your place is only confirmed once payment has been successfully received.

Places are limited to 10 per session and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Cancellations

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by The Ruh Collective.

If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Whilst tickets are non-refundable, transfer requests may be considered at the discretion of The Ruh Collective.

If The Ruh Collective cancels the event due to weather, water conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

Health, Accessibility & Additional Support

Please notify us of any medical conditions, allergies, accessibility requirements or additional support needs when booking.

Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate reasonable requests, this cannot always be guaranteed.

If you have any concerns about your ability to participate in paddlesports, please contact The Ruh Collective before booking.

Photography & Media

Photographs and videos may be taken throughout the event for promotional, educational and marketing purposes.

By attending this event, you consent to The Ruh Collective using photographs and videos on our website, social media platforms, promotional materials, funding reports and future marketing.

If you would prefer not to appear in any photographs or videos, please inform a member of the team upon arrival.

Behaviour

The Ruh Collective is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone.

We reserve the right to refuse participation or ask any attendee to leave the event if their behaviour is considered abusive, threatening, discriminatory or likely to negatively impact the safety or enjoyment of others.

No refund will be issued in these circumstances.

Whilst every reasonable effort is made to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, The Ruh Collective accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings.

Participants are responsible for their own possessions throughout the event.

The Ruh Collective accepts no liability for injury, accident or loss except where required by law.

Changes to the Session

The Ruh Collective reserves the right to amend the session timings, activities or arrangements where necessary due to weather conditions, water conditions, staffing, operational requirements or circumstances beyond our control.

The safety of participants and volunteers will always be our priority.
